Origin

A History of Quality
and Expertise

Originally founded by Sean Joyce and Alex Orlov – a pair of construction managers with 30 years of cumulative experience between them – “Sean n’ Alex” Construction was born in 2020, out of a desire to be, do, and inspire something better in the industry. Growing from three employees on our first day to nearly 20 today, we can see that this desire resonates with our clients in a big way.

We started out specializing in general contracting for commercial projects. Thanks to our strong, capable team and our immense prior experience, we’ve been able to branch out and we’re proud to be adding more services to our list: full commercial project management, concrete, drywall, landscaping, and property development. We’ve grown outward from our Calgary HQ and we’ve worked on projects all throughout the prairies, the foothills, and the Rockies themselves. And we can’t wait to see where we go next.

Our Team

Sean Joyce | President

A 15-year veteran of the Canadian commercial and residential construction industry (with another 6 earned internationally), Sean has extensive experience as a project manager, estimator, and site supervisor. In his role with SNA, he manages project obligations and requirements to ensure all clients are provided with exceptional service throughout all phases of construction. Sean holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (MIT) in Galway, Ireland.

Alex Orlov | Field Operation Manager
Alex is a man of many incredible talents – he holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Ivano-Frankovsk, Ukraine, a Construction Management Certificate from SAIT in Calgary, and a Journeyman Red Seal Carpenter Certificate. He’s worked in Canadian and international construction for 15 years, allowing him to provide unsurpassed knowledge of processes, equipment, materials, project management, and logistics, while sticking to dedicated schedules and budgets.
Shiloh Forrest | Chief Executive Officer
Shiloh has spent more than a decade in the Canadian commercial construction industry, developing excellent interpersonal skills and a great working dynamic for public relations and business development. She has extensive knowledge of accounting practice and business financials, working to ensure projects remain within budget and the overall business operations are aligned with long-term business goals. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminology achieved at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and additional training with the Alberta Construction Safety Association – she proudly holds a COR Auditor Certificate and is the company’s Health and Safety Representative.
Martin Griffin | Site Superintendent

Martin has been in the Canadian and UK commercial construction industry for over 10 years, overseeing all aspects of construction activities and project scheduling. As our site superintendent, he maintains all quality and safety standards while respecting financial and time allocations for our clients, and he liaises with inspectors for approvals on the work performed. He also has immense direct education in and experience with concrete, framing, steel, and drywall, bringing a valuable expert perspective to our team.

Paige Joyce | Accounting Administrator & HSR

Paige has been in the construction industry for nearly two years providing a strong administrative role that supports the accounting, human resource, and internal operations team. Paige’s detail-oriented traits provide concise decision making that allows the corporation to be efficient and streamlined. Paige’s customer orientated interpersonal skills give her an edge that provides a level of professionalism to the staff and other key vendors and clients.

Gabriel Bejarano | Jr., Project Manager

Drawing on 15 years of commercial construction experience in Canada and abroad, Gabriel helps to oversee and coordinate projects from start to finish. He develops estimates, plans, schedules, reports, and other project documentation, and acts as a liaison between different stakeholder groups to ensure strong, clear communications across the board. Combined with his versatility in document control and procurement, he is a critical asset in ensuring we meet each project’s timeline and budgetary goals.
